Texas Tech Distributes Recovery Curriculum

The Texas Tech University Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery has developed a recovery curriculum based on its successful 20-year-old counseling and peer-support program, UPI reported Sept. 11.

The curriculum, which is being distributed to other schools around the country, is being called the first of its kind. It spells out how colleges can establish on-campus support groups, 12-step programs, mentoring programs, and more.

The Texas Tech program has graduated more than 500 students over the last two decades, with a reported 7-percent relapse rate.
